ZELMA WHITE YORK
Zelma White York, 91, of Panama City, went home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 1, 2007. She was born August 13, 1915 in Claridon County, South Carolina to George & Estelle White. She had been a resident of Panama City since 1937. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City, the Order of the Amaranth, Rush L. Darby Court #28, and the Rebekah Lodge #15. She was preceded in death by her husband, Capt. Graydon York. She is survived by 2 daughters, Sharon York Powell and husband, Dalton of Panama City; Tanya York Stivers of Atlanta, GA; 2 granddaughters, Shannon Anderson and husband, Joseph of Fairbanks, Alaska; Dale Holbrook Stivers of Atlanta, and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Ellison officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Dalton Powell, Lloyd Powell, Joseph Anderson, Jim Certalich, Don Sowell and Mark Limmer. Asked to serve as honorary pallbearers are Jeff Stivers, members of Rebekah Lodge #15, order of the Amaranth Court 28 and all of the staff, past and present, of Sterling House that cared for our mother with love and respect. The family's most sincere gratitude to Dr. David Dietrich and all of her caregivers.
