Willie Calvin Roney Sr., 83, of Altha, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023 at his home.  He was born December 1, 1939 in Dothan, Alabama.  He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He was a retired carpenter.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Roxie Armstrong Roney; sister, Jacqueline, two brothers, James, Roy,  and a sister, Shirley.  He is survived by two sons, Willie C Roney Jr. (Jessica), George Anthony Roney; three grandchildren, James Michael Roney, Roxannah Desiree Nowling (William), Kathlyn Morgan; three great grandchildren and a brother, Johnny Roney (Lois).  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 7 p.m. in the First Pentecostal Church.  The family will receive friends at the church from 6-7 p.m. prior to the service.  Interment will be on Friday at 9 a.m. in the Fountain Cemetery.
