IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William "Bill"
Van Etten
January 3, 1949 – February 17, 2024
William (Bill) Van Etten, 75, passed away on February 17, 2024, at Ascension Sacred Heart Bay Hospital in Panama City, FL. Born on January 3, 1949, in Peoria, Illinois.
He married his beloved wife, Gail (Gamble) Van Etten, they would've celebrated their 25th anniversary on March 19th, together they made their home in Panama City, FL. Bill's early years were spent in Peoria, where he graduated from Peoria Central High School. Following graduation, he honorably served in the Navy as a Ship Pipefitter for six years. His commitment to service continued at Caterpillar, where he retired as a Training Manager after 36 years. Bill's passion for service was evident through his involvement with the Limestone Girls Softball Association (LGSA), where he served in various capacities, including President. Bill enjoyed bowling, passionately supported Donald Trump, and was an avid Alabama fan (Roll Tide!)
His parents, William and Ruth (Davis) Van Etten, preceded him in death. Bill's legacy lives on through his wife, Gail; brother, Keith Van Etten; sister-in-law, Janet Penney; children, Jen (Ryan) Shriber, Jamie (Tommy) Fultz, and William (Staci) Van Etten; grandchildren, Natalie, Timothy, Quinton, Holly, Addyson, Lynsey, and Brooklyn; and great-grandchild, Scarlett. Each of them cherished Bill deeply and will miss their "Grampy" greatly.
As we say goodbye, we hold onto the love and memories shared, promising to keep his legacy alive.
