William R. (Bill) Rumph passed away at his home on February 6, 2023 with his wife and family present. He was born on  August 22, 1938 in Quincy, FL to John Chesley and Audrey Hatcher Rumph. The family moved to Panama City in 1941. Bill graduated from Bay High School in the Class of 1956 and from Florida State University in 1965. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Raymond H. Rumph and his in laws William (Wilkie) and Frances Jennings.

Bill was a retired Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, serving in several offices and positions until he retired in 1989 from Headquarters in Washington, DC.

Bill was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, serving as an Elder, member of the choir and choir director for several years, and also a member of the Grace Men's group. Bill was active in the Panama City Lions Club for many years and served on the Board of Directors of the Bay County Council on Aging and was the host of their television show, Seniors to Seniors.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ellen Rumph, son Jonathan Eric (Deborah) Rumph of Waynesboro, VA, and daughter Jennifer (William) Blanks of Panama City. Surviving grandchildren are Katie (Brian) Pulling, Lauren Blanks, McKenna Blanks, Abbey Rumph and Jacob Rumph and great grandsons Ryder, Archer and Maverick Pulling. He is also survived by his sister in law and brother in law Claire(Chris) Calohan and family and sister in law Barbara Rumph and family.

He will be fondly missed by the Chick Fil A coffee bunch and staff where he could be found on many mornings.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Grace Presbyterian Church, 1415 Airport Road, Panama City, FL 32405. Visitation will be at 10 am and the service will be at 11 am. A reception will follow in the Social Hall. The service will be officiated by the Reverend Eric Spoon. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Grace Cares, the food pantry sponsored by the church, at the church's address.
