William "Bill" Meldrum Atkinson Jr., 78, a retired local attorney, passed away Sunday January 28, 2024. He was born October 23, 1945 in Panama City. A graduate of Bay High School, The University of Southern Mississippi, where he was a member of the SAE Fraternity, and Florida State University School of Law. During his time in the Navy, Bill was in the Naval Aviation Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wm Meldrum Atkinson and Alma D. Atkinson. Bill is survived by Mimi Bozarth; daughter, Anna-Lee Chapman (Kristian), granddaughter, Mary Catherine Chapman; brother, Carlos Atkinson (Marty), nieces Chelsea Blaich (Chase) and Ashley Atkinson. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 2:30pm at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 3733 Hwy 231 Panama City, FL 32404.
