Obituary

William "Bill" Lawson Fretwell Jr., 89, of Panama City, passed away November 23, 2015. He was born July 18, 1926 in Hillsboro, Alabama. He served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. Bill worked as an Electronics Foreman at Tyndall Air Force Base retiring in 1979 after 30 years of service. After retiring from civil service, he opened and operated Fretwell's Glassworks on Harrison Ave. He was best known for his fine craftsmanship in his glass work. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Panama City. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lawson Fretwell Sr. and Mary Fretwell; and his sister, Anita Cross. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Coonradt Fretwell; his children, David Fretwell and Cheryl Little (Mike); three grandchildren, Corinne Fretwell, Delaney Fretwell and Jessica Catlin. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sean Peters officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to service. Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial donations to the His Kids Program at First United Methodist Church of Panama City, 903 East 4th Street, Panama City, Florida 32401 in memory of Bill Fretwell.
