Obituary

William Quincy Kirkland, 87, of Panama City, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2015. He was born January 6, 1928 in Faydette, Alabama. He served in the United States Army 10th Corp 14th EOD during the Korean War. He graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute, now Auburn University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as an engineer at Arizona Chemical Company and retired in 1988. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Lynette Kirkland; 2 brothers, Clarence Vivian Kirkland, and S.W. Kirkland. He is survived by a son, David Kirkland (Teresa); daughter, Jennifer Canfield (Michael); 4 grandchildren, Catherine Canfield Kinnard (Adam), William Canfield (Rebecca), Shannon Lautner, Michael Kirkland; 2 great grandchildren, Gates Kinnard, Graham Kinnard; sister, Delena Russell and numerous nieces and nephews. A private family graveside service was held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
