William Eddie Faust, 90, of Lynn Haven, Florida, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 8th, 2024. Born April 7, 1934, in Ozark, Dale County, Alabama, Eddie was the beloved son of Clayton and Eula Mae (Aman) Faust.
After graduating from high school in 1952, during the Korean War, Eddie enlisted in the U.S. Air Force alongside his close friend, Hootie German. He served four years in Germany, and upon returning home, married his high school sweetheart, Ruby Jo Roberson. In a special twist, Hootie married Eddie's sister, Dorothy.
Eddie and Ruby Jo attended Auburn University, where Eddie earned a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering. During their time at Auburn, they welcomed three children: Susan, Benjamin, and William. In 1969, Eddie began a distinguished career designing antennas for the growing space industry in Central Florida, where he was known for his passion for solving complex engineering problems.
Eddie lived by the highest standards of personal integrity and will be remembered for his gentle and loving nature. His kindness, honesty, and calm presence were cherished by all who knew him.
After retiring in 1994, Eddie and Ruby Jo spent their golden years traveling the country in their RV, visiting their children and grandchildren, and enjoying many adventures together.
Eddie was predeceased by his parents, Clayton and Eula Mae Faust, and his sister, Dorothy German. He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Ruby Jo, and his three children and their spouses: Susan and Roy Breen, Benjamin and Vicki (Hallen), and William and Elizabeth (Brady). He is also survived by his two nieces, Joannae Williams and Zonia German; his eight grandchildren: Patrick, Tyler (& Jena), Emma, Greg, Alan, Mason (& Brooke), Carl, and Sawyer; and his two great-grandchildren, Gray and Beatrice.
Eddie will be remembered not only for his brilliant mind and professional achievements but also for the warmth, integrity, and love he shared with his family and friends throughout his life.
