William Bryant Culpepper Sr. passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on Nov 14 TH @ 8:10 pm at Sacred Heart Hospital in Miramar Beach Fl. After a brief stent in the Army he then Graduated as an alumni from Auburn University as a Mechanical Engineer. He then met & married Anne E. Armistead Oct 21St, 1951, his lifelong sweetheart of 65 years (Anne passed in April this year). He became a mason and worked his way up to Shriner and began supporting his 2 passionate charities Shriner's & St. Jude's Children's Hospitals. Early in his career while working for the Navy Base & Government Contractors the Navy brought him in as Lead Engineer for the design & development of SEALAB I & II. The Panama City Man of the Sea Museum holds a special place in his heart. He was also one of the design engineers for the Panama City Marina Sundial/time capsule project. After retiring he enjoyed making wine, going fishing, tinkering in his workshop, watching Auburn football games, and being a pawpaw to his 2 grandchildren in their home they shared in Steelfield fish camp.
He is survived by William B. Culpepper Jr. (son), Brandon Culpepper (grandson), Kristy Norton (granddaughter), Trenton Norton (great grandson), Cedella Post (great granddaughter), Robin Teachout (former daughter in law). Memorial services will be held on Saturday December 16, 2017 at 10 am in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chad Reister officiating. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make memorial donations to the Man of the Sea Museum in memory of William Culpepper.
