William "Captain Bill" Coy Raffield,85, of Panama City, FL passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022. He was born on April 21, 1936 in Panama City, FL. He was a dedicated member of the Springfield Baptist Church. He worked as a Fishing Boat Captain. He was also a member of the Mobile Big Game Fish Club. Capt. Bill bought his first boat and named her the "Miss Debra" in 1959. Following he bought several boats and was involved with charter, commercial, recreational and sports fishing. He caught one of the first Blue Marlin's in Panama City. Other than his love of fishing he loved his wife of 67 years, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel Coy and Bonnie Eugene Raffield; two sisters, Betty Hammond, Anne Couchigian, brother, Charles Albert Raffield and son-in-law, Kim Neese. He is survived by his wife, Evon Blount Raffield; four children, Debra Neese, Mike Theo Raffield (Terri), Kathy Caughlin, William Mark Raffield; ten grandchildren, Jeff Neese (Shirley), Stephanie Brogdon (Anthony), Jay Neese (Meredith), Eric Raffield, Jessica Wise (Kegan), Amy Davidson (John), Ashley Eanes (Jamie), Chris Caughlin (Brittany), Brittany Garcia (Marco), Emily Jones (Trenton); twenty three great grandchildren ; three great-great grandchildren; one sister, Ima Jean Evans (Alton); numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 14, 2022 at 2 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1-2 pm prior to the service.
