WILLARD GEORGE SKIPPER
Willard George Skipper, 85, of Panama City, passed away Monday, December 5, 2011. He was born December 12, 1925 in New Hope, Florida and had been a lifelong resident of the area. He attended Florida State University. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the St. Andrew Baptist Church, the National Tree Farmers of America and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth Skipper, Denver Skipper, Billy Skipper; and one sister, Eunice Burke. He is survived by his wife, Johnnie Retherford Skipper; two sons, Greg Skipper and wife Gail, Jeff Skipper and wife Rhonda; five grandchildren, Katie Skipper, Julie Cobble and husband Kasey, Sarah Martin and husband Nate, Cole Skipper, Lloyd Skipper and wife Ashleigh; six great grandchildren, Alex Cobble, Ella Cobble, Ryker Martin, Miriam Martin, Gracie Skipper and Molleigh Skipper; two sisters, Wilma Parker, Bonnie Kelly; one brother, Donald Skipper; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Michael Claunch and Rev. Greg Skipper officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday in the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Bonifay, Florida. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 – 7 p.m.
