WHITT T. MURRAY
Whitt T. Murray, 93, of Panama City, went home to be with the Lord September 21, 2006 in the Veterans Hospital, Tampa, FL. . Whitt was born on May 11, 1913, in Youngstown, FL, and lived most of his life in Panama City. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He also supervised the mail delivery in the South Pacific for the U.S. Navy during World War II. Whitt was active in the First Baptist Church serving as an active deacon for over 50 years. He was also active in the Gideons and in the Prison Ministry. He was preceded in death by his wife; Lois Kennington Murray. He is survived by his son, Bob Murray, and his children, Thomas and Jessica of Tampa, FL; and by his daughter, Ann Spencer and her husband Guy, and their son James of Sarasota, FL. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 26, at 10:00 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Ellison officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening September 25, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Private family graveside services will be in the Youngstown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Gideons, P.O. Box 685, Panama City, FL 32402 in memory of Whitt Murray.
