Wayne Lee Heath, 72, of Southport, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 23, 2021 in a local hospital. He was born December 19, 1948 in Panama City and had been a lifelong resident of the area. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He was retired from Arizona Chemical Company. He was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston & Effie Heath; stepmother, Evelyn Heath; and a brother, James Heath. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Godfrey Heath; two sons, Robert Heath (Jessica), Jason Heath; two grandchildren, Miles and Nancy Heath; brother, Lonnie Heath (Sheila); sisters-in-law, Ethel Lord (Jeff), Diane Walker (Robert), and Barbara Justice; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the Garden of Memories Cemetery with Rev. Virgil Tillman and Rev. Josh Fidler officiating. Attendees are expected to wear masks.
Pallbearers are Brady Calhoun, Todd Everett, Chris Golden, Mike Golden, CJ Heath, and Nathan Ziglar. Honorary pallbearers are Ron Farris, Jeff Lord, and Robert Walker. The family extends their gratitude to Dr. S. A. Daffin III, Dr. Andrew Weber, and the many healthcare workers who cared for Wayne.
Those desiring may make memorial donations to the Springfield Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 15874, Panama City, FL 32406 in memory of Wayne Heath.
