Wavine Curry Norris of Panama City, Fl. passed away on April 19, 2021. She was born in Ponce De Leon, Fl. on November 4, 1928 to Titus Luther Curry and Florrie Ellen Winslow. A well known educator who taught at Hiland Park Elementary for nearly 50 Years who prided herself in teaching many of the "Leaders" of Bay County over her vast career. She loved to travel and visited many places around the world, Germany, Iceland, and Japan just to mention a few, as well as all over the United States with one of her favorite places being the Smokey Mountains of North Georgia where she visited every summer. Along with her love of travel and adventure she loved her family very much and held each and every one of them near and dear to her heart. She graduated from Ponce De Leon High school in 1946 and then attended Florida State School for women where she graduated with a degree in Education in 1954. While attending FSU she met and married John W. Norris in 1950 and they moved to Bay County where she would begin her teaching career and they would start their family. To this union there were five children born, John. W. Norris, Jr., Judy G. Gibson, T. Dianne Fite (Robin), Bonny C. Larson (Dean), and Flint W. Norris, and four grand Children, Ashley McBridge (Kirby), Ryan Norris (Michael), Lauren Rogers (Adam), Amanda Norris (Chelsey), and four Great Grand Children, Chase Norris, Bradley Gibson, Macey McBride and Kaston McBride. Wavine is also survived by her very dear sister Ellen "Twinkle" Hall, brother T.L. Curry and sister Susie Steele, Special nieces Julie Hall Fisher, and Jenny Hall Snuffer, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her Father, Mother, and husband Walt as well as sisters Florrie Irene Manning, Etta Mae Whitton, as well as three brothers, James Luther Curry, John Wilmer Curry, and George Franklin Curry. She attended Hiland Park Baptist Church and was a faithful member for over 55 years. Pallbearers will be close family members. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the Hiland Park Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Please make donations to the Hiland Park Baptist Church Building Fund, The Shaddai Shrine Temple of Panama City or an Education Fund of your choosing.
