Evans

Virginia W. "Ginger" Evans is absent from the body and present with the Lord. She was born Virginia Lou Womble July 31, 1945, in Newport News, VA to Elred Thomas Womble and Mary Lee (Williamson) Womble; she was reared and educated in Tarboro, North Carolina. In 1963, Ginger moved to Virginia Beach and pursued a career in hair dressing. She was born again in 1977. After a long battle with COPD, Ginger died Dec. 20, 2016, at age 71.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, John Enos Evans; two sons, George Peter Knott, Jr., (wife Amy) and Thomas Harley Evans; three grandchildren, Ashley Lynn Knott, Macy Elizabeth Evans, and John Benjamin Evans, all of Va. Beach; one sister, Mary W. Jones of Rocky Mount, NC; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Ginger was a loving, caring, giving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was proud of her family.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 28 at 10 a.m. in the Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donations to Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters.
