Vickie Hollie also known as Vickie Rue Whitney, age 64, was born on June 12, 1961 In Jacksonville, Fl and passed away on December 12,2025. After a 3 year battle with stage IV cancer, Vickie went to be with the lord, surrounded by love and faith that carried her through every season of her life.She lived a life defined by love, loyalty, and unwavering devotion to her family. Vickie faced stage 4 cancer after she beat stage 3 in the larynx in part of the throat with remarkable courage and dignity, receiving treatment at MD Anderson cancer center in Houston, Texas. Even through hardship, she remained brave, strong and deeply rooted in love for those around her She was the beloved daughter to Jeannie and Charlie Forbes a WW2 Decorated hero, inheriting her strong spirit and determination from her father, qualities that defined her throughout her life.. Vickie was a devoted wife to Horace Hollie and a loving mother to John David Knight, Daniel Knight, Charlie Knight, and Robby Whitney, She took great pride in being a grandmother to John David Jr, Julia Knight, Luke Whitney, Reece, Rue Whitney, and a cherished grandchild on the way. Along with a sister Leilia Teer. She was loved by her daughter-in-laws, Natasha Jasperson, Sharon Knight and Angelica Whitney, whom she welcomed as family. Vickie was also a very proud Aunt to Caleb Teer and Emily Teer, always helping them in any ways possible, as well as raising them there their whole life. They will always hold a special place in her heart. She never had a girl, always wished for one then she was blessed with her little Emily. Vickie shared deep and meaningful lasting friendships with James Brumback, Gina Whaley, Glenda Smeby, and Rita Pendergrass, Jeff Teer, Jason oaks, Melanie Calloway, Tona Skipper, and many more friends whose presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength throughout her life. A woman of service and hard work, Vickie spent more than 20 years working in the service industry, including many years as a waitress at Angelo's Steak Pit and Bayou Bills, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. She also worked at the bingo hall where she was known and respected. In 2010, she took part in the oil spill clean up efforts during the BP oil spill, once again stepping forward to help others during a time of need. Vickie's life was defined by service not only through her work, but through her heart. If someone needed help, food, or a place to stay, she was there without hesitation, After raising her own children, she continued to give of herself by helping raise and care for her beloved niece and nephew Emily Teer and Caleb Teer, Whom she loved deeply. She will always be remembered as a strong woman of faith, a devoted wife, and mother, a loving grandmother, and a selfless soul whose life was truly spent to serve others. Her legacy of love, strength and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
