Vera Stockman Sanders, age 93, of Panama City, Florida, passed away on January 30, 2026.
She graduated from Bay High School in 1951 followed by business college in Montgomery, AL, an experience that laid the foundation for her professional life. She had a long career as a bookkeeper, where her intelligence, precision, and attention to detail were evident in everything she did.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband; Ralph Sanders, her parents; O. R. and Eunice Mae Stockman and her sisters; Virginia Prentice and Sally Mae Warren.
She is survived by her children; Robert (Viktoriya) Pitts of Ukraine, Gary Pitts of Panama City, and Gayle (Alan) Rogers of Panama City, her grandchildren; Alan (Tracy) Rogers Jr. of Panama City, Lloyd (Nicole) Rogers of Panama City, Jeremy (Hanna) Pitts of Wesley Chapel, FL and Frankie (Deborah) Menna of Boca Raton, FL and her great-grandchildren; Alexis (Jaron) Rogers-Sapp of Panama City, Lane Rogers of Panama City, Ava Haislop of Wesley Chapel, FL, Jack Pitts of Wesley Chapel, FL, and Kaia Menna of Boca Raton, FL as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
Above all else, Vera loved her family. Time spent together - especially during holidays - was sacred to her and brought her the greatest joy. She was well known for her sharp wit and her ability to stir things up just enough to keep life interesting.
She will be remembered for her strong personality, her humor, and the lasting impression she left on those who knew and loved her.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 04, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden of Memories, 4035 East 15th Street, Panama City, Florida.
