VERA LEE WARREN JONES

Vera Lee Warren Jones, 85, of Panama City, died Wednesday, November 28, 2007 in her home. She was born November 18, 1922 in Millville and had been a lifelong resident of the area. She was a 1940 graduate of Bay High School. She was a member of the Millville Advent Christian Church., where she sang in the church choir for over 60 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Jones, a brother, James Elton Warren and a sister, Willa Jencks. She is survived by a son, David E. Jones of Panama City Beach; a daughter, Kathy Smith and husband, Ron of Panama City, 3 grandchildren, Chief David E. Jones Jr. of Gulfport, MS; Ensign Donald H. Wood III and wife, Angela of Pensacola; Jennifer McCarty and husband, Mitchell of Panama City; great granddaughter, Hannah Wood, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with David Buchanan officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Friday. Those desiring may make a contribution to the Millville Advent Christian Church Building Fund or to Covenant Hospice.
