VELMA CATHERINE LAWSON
Velma Catherine Lawson, 92, of Panama City, passed away January 19, 2010 in a local nursing home. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1917. She was a graduate of Kent State University and taught elementary school for 25 years in Michigan and Marathon, Florida. She was active in the Alzheimer's and related neurological diseases for several years. She was married for 47 years to former automotive stylist and artist, George S. Lawson. She is survived by 2 children, Lorna McDuffie and her husband, Roy C. McDuffie, son, Drew B. Lawson and his wife, Barbara of San Jose, California, two grandsons, Geoffrey and Chad Lawson of California, sister, Lorna Hudgens and husband, Dr. E.D. Hudgens of Oberlin, Ohio. A private family service will be held at a later date where she will be interred next to her husband.
