VASSIE MAE GEOGHAGAN LANDINGHAM

Vassie Mae Geoghagan Landingham, age 94, of Lynn Haven, Florida, went Home to be with the LORD Tuesday, September 18, 2007 after an extended illness. She was born January 16, 1913 in Geneva County, Alabama. She had been a member of St. Andrews Primitive Baptist Church since 1959. She joined the Primitive Baptist Church in 1928. For many years, she was employed by Independent Insurance Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Gilbert Landingham and son, George Harlan Landingham and her parents, Johnny Jay Jefferson Geoghagan and Minnie Uvader Wallace Geoghagan. She is survived by her children: daughter, Helen Nadine Farris and her late husband Sam Farris of Elba, AL., and Daughter-in-law, Arlene Jones of Coffee Springs, AL, three sons Johnny Rayford and wife Elizabeth Landingham, Robert Lee and wife Mary Landingham of Lynn Haven and Rex Gilbert and wife Regina Landingham of Palmer, Alaska, her brother, Shadrick Geoghagan and wife Amy of Florala, AL., and three sisters, Minnie Lou Phillips and late husband Robert of Callahan, FL, Frankie Shuler and late husband David of Jacksonville, FL, and Mary Olive Harris and husband Kenneth of Pensacola, FL, and three sisters-in-law Edna Booth of St. Andrews, FL and Monteree Geoghagan of Jacksonville,FL, and Mary Geoghagan of Folkston, GA. Deceased brothers were: Dallas, Gray, Wilmer, Isaiah, Homer, and Richard Geoghagan. She had 5 children, 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grand children and 14 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel on Friday at 2 p.m. with Elder J.C. Stanaland officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Building Fund of St. Andrews Primitive Baptist Church, 2100 Michigan Ave., Panama City, FL 32405. Vassie will be buried by the side of her husband at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
