Obituary

Travis Fonzo Whitman, 86, of Panama City, passed away November 27, 2016.  Travis was born in Elba, Alabama on May 27, 1930 to the late Flournoy and Della Whitman.  He attended Auburn University where he received degrees in agriculture and business before serving his country in the army during the Korean War.   While attending Auburn, he met Cula Ann Mixson who he married on December 21, 1956.  Travis and Ann moved to Panama City in 1957 where he began working at Arizona Chemical Company.  Travis retired in 1992 at which time he and Ann moved to Wewahitchka and spent their later years living on the Chipola River.

He is survived by his wife, Cula Ann Whitman, son David (Susan), daughter Renee (Brian), three granddaughters, Haley, Haven, and Sarah; two grandsons Brandon (Emily) and Seth.

Travis was a prior member of Northside Baptist Church in Panama City and a current member of First Baptist Church in Wewahitchka.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 29 at 11 am in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Luther Stanford and Rev. Mike Stroud officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am prior to the service. A graveside service will follow at 3 pm in the Evergreen Cemetery in Elba, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be given to the Baptist Christian Center, P.O. Box 3806, Panama City, FL 32401.
