Obituary

Travis Scott Stepp

March 28, 1988 – April 18, 2022

Travis Scott Stepp, 34, passed away at his home in Panama City, Florida, on Monday, April 18, 2022, leaving a huge void in countless lives across the country. He was born, March 28, 1988 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida to Darrell and Beverly Stepp.

Travis faithfully attended Baptist churches from the time he was born and professed his faith as a pre-teen at St. Andrew Baptist Church, where he was baptized. While at St. Andrew Baptist, he went on many mission trips with the Youth to Mexico and later became a part of the sound crew for worship services. Travis was a "behind the scenes" type of person, but during the Passion Play in the Spring, he became active in the drama part of Jesus' Resurrection Story. Travis was very helpful with set-up and take-down and was always willing to lend a hand wherever needed.

Travis moved to the Panama City area in 1996, attending Hiland Park Elementary, Mowat Middle School and graduating from Mosley High School in 2006. Travis went on to earn his AA degree at Gulf Coast State College and pursued a career in IT. Over the years, he added specialized certifications to his resume' and every company he worked for considered him an asset to have on their team.

At an early age, Travis was recognized and awarded the "Have a Heart" award and honored with other recipients from around Bay County. He showed exemplary people skills, was humble and so very smart.

Travis was remarkable, kind, and generous. Travis enjoyed adventures and being a bit of a daredevil. He proudly achieved new high scores on his motorcycle, excelled at the drag races with his customized 2010 Camaro, traveled far and wide, skydived in various beautiful places and "gamed" with the best of the best. Travis was "that friend" you called when you needed help, whether it was helping move across town or across the country. Travis was a genius recovering all your data from your computer that just crashed or all those photos that were so priceless. Travis was always there for you; he would help fix a car, bring you gas, play with your kids, pick up take out, drive an hour away from home to help you bury your treasured pet, pick you up for bible study, share a hug or just sit and listen. Travis was a man of few words, logical, concise and literal but mostly, meaningful. Travis was private, his close circle of friends were honored to be among his group, because Travis set a very high example of everyday life. Travis set the bar pretty high and expected a lot from others as well. Travis was loyal, compassionate, trustworthy, honest, straightforward,  and genuinely a wonderful, marvelous young man.

All who knew Travis, loved Travis.

Travis was greeted at the Heavenly gates by his grandparents, Jack and Ruth Stepp, Ted Scott, his Aunts, Shelia Stepp and Meri Scott Kappenman and cousin, Jillian Arnould.

Travis' memory will be carried on by his parents, Darrell and Beverly Stepp of Alford, sister, Jennifer Rader (Shawn), Panama City, sister, Allee Stepp, Alford, Grandmother, Betty Scott, Lynn Haven, Uncle David Scott (Susan), and cousins, Brian (Cory) and Eric Scott, California, Nieces, Shelia and Lilia Rader and nephew, Beau Rader, Panama City, as well as his second cousin, Jarred Thompson, of Texas and countless friends from far and wide plus his two loving dogs, Oberon, and Rico, who will miss him terribly.
