TRAVIS EUGENE SCOTT

Travis Eugene Scott, 82, of Parker, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011 in his home. He was born on January 8, 1929 in Washington County, Florida and had been a lifelong resident of the area. He was a 1948 graduate of Bay High School, where he served as Student Body President. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a Machinist at the Paper Mill for over 45 years, retiring in 1994. Mr. Scott was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Lillie Pennington Sunday School Class and worked cameras for services at the church. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and delivered Meals on Wheels. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret King Scott. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Scott; son, Paul Scott (Libby), of Hickory, NC; daughter, Sandra Mansfield (David), of Southaven, MS; three grandsons, Travis Scott (Kristin), Matthew Scott, Christopher Mansfield; two granddaughters, Jessica Mansfield, Rebecca Scott; three stepchildren, Robert Rushing, Pamela Klein (Kevin), Vickie Fiore (Gerard); and seven step grandchildren, Christopher Rushing, Richard Klein, Robert Klein, Morgan Klein, Nicholaus Fiore, Joseph Fiore and Annalise Fiore. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the First United Methodist Church of Panama City with Rev. David Warren and Rev. Rudy Olivo officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 – 8 p.m. Flowers are welcome; those desiring may make memorial donations to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 903 E 4th Street, Panama City, FL 32401 or to Covenant Hospice, 107 W 19th Street, Panama City, FL 32405 in memory of Travis Scott. The family wishes to express its gratitude to Dr. Thompson Maner and his staff at Cardiology Associates; Linda Stern, RNP of Callaway Clinic; and the many friends who have supported us through his illness.
