IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tommy Lee
Berry
March 19, 1952 – October 12, 2021
On October 12, 2021 Tommy Lee Berry went home to be with the Lord. Tommy was larger than life, a great businessman, an incredible husband and father, and most importantly a godly man. Of all his accomplishments, knowing his Lord Jesus Christ, loving his family, and being there for others were his greatest.
He was born on March 19, 1952 to Dallas Marion Berry and Cleo Mixon Berry.
He was passionate for Christ and a bold witness to others no matter who they were. He loved his church, serving as a deacon and youth boys Sunday School Teacher for decades. For many he never stopped being their teacher.
He loved his family. He was devoted to his wife and sons. As hard as he worked, he always said "my family IS my hobby". He loved nothing more than just being with his wife and kids and doing whatever they wanted to do. He always put them above himself. He was an even more incredible Paw-Paw to his six grandchildren.
He invested in people. He fought to bring jobs to the community he loved and built up everyone around him. He would always take the time to pour into anyone whether they were the president of a company, a person at the check-out register, or a competitor in business. He just loved people and they knew it. He made them feel like they mattered.
He started his lifelong career in the Foreign-Trade Zones industry working at the Port of Panama City, FL as the Assistant Port Director and Foreign-Trade Zone Manager. From there he went to work for Sandler & Travis Trade Advisory Services, Inc. as well as KPMG. In 2004, he started what became PointTrade Services, Inc. with a small team of 4 partners and it has grown into a business with over 100 employees that is an industry leader in Foreign-Trade Zones.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rebecca Leake Berry; two sons, Michael Brenton "Brent" Berry (Wife: Stephanie McLendon Berry) and their children Michael "Griffin" Berry, Gabrielle Reese Berry, Matthew "Jared" Berry (Wife: Audrey Kristine Berry) and their children Alethea Kate Berry, Shiloh Elyse Berry, Gideon Johnson Berry, and Matthew "Declan" Berry; one brother, Wallace C Berry and wife, Wanda Andersen Berry; Mother-in-law: Patsy R. Leake; Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Ronnie Leake and Linda Leake; Ron Hudson and Shelly Leake Hudson; nephews, Eric Berry (Wife: Tina), Joey Leake (Wife: Sheena), Justin Leake (Wife: Angie), Jordan Leake, Clint Hudson (Wife: Nikita); Nieces: Ginger Berry House (Husband: Jeff), Autumn Hudson.
