TOM GILBERT WOOTEN
Tom Gilbert Wooten, 89, of Panama City, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011. He was born July 12, 1922 in LaGrange, Georgia. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he was the Assistant Postmaster. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City, where he served as a faithful deacon for 60 years. He was also a member of the Acme Masonic Lodge #222, Scottish Rite and the Shaddai Shrine Temple. Mr. Wooten was preceded in death by his first wife, Sue Hodges Wooten and two sisters, Louise Danzey and Billie Rollo. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Cooper Wooten; three children, Charles Thomas Wooten (Jennifer), Mary Sue Boles (Earl), Sally Enfinger (Russell); seven grandchildren, Chad Wooten (Heather), Carmen Marie Preston (Benjamin), Bobby Gast, Tom Wesley Gast, Cara Christian, David Christian, Georgia Christian; one great grandchild, Jacqueline Marie Wooten; and two step children, Nila Latta (Robert), Craig Osborne (Judy). Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with military and Masonic rites conducted at the graveside. The family will receive friends from 2 – 3 p.m. prior to the service. Box 1200, Panama City, FL 32402 in memory of Tom Wooten. The Acme Masonic Lodge will open one hour prior to the service.
