Tirese Milton "Zeek" Carter, 85, of Panama City, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Clifford Chester Sims State Veteran's Nursing Home. He was born November 4, 1929 in Red Bay, Florida to Ada and John Richard Carter. He had been a resident of Panama City for the past 40 years moving here from Red Bay. He attended Immanuel Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a Chief Engineer having worked on the riverboat for American Barge Lines. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Bernice Carter; brother, Lesley Carter; and step-father, Aubrey Ammons. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Carter; step-daughter, Toni Ramsey (Phil); sisters, Maybelle Holley (Buddy), Martha Rigdon; brothers, George Carter (Montez), Johnny Carter (Barbara) and Sidney Carter (Jeannie). Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 11:00 am. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Josh Spires officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Serving as active pallbearers will be John Price, James Greene, Buddy Holley, Richard Holley, Cody Theriot, and Roy Conrad.
