Timothy Dean Smitherman, 60, of Panama City, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022 in his home surrounded by his loving family.  Tim grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, with his parents, David and Margaret, surrounded by a large extended family.  He served in the US Navy and then settled in Panama City where he met the love of his life, Pam, and had two sons, Nicholas and Jeremy.  Tim's life revolved around his family.

Tim was always an athlete at heart, whether playing, coaching youth teams or just watching.  He was a lifelong Crimson Tide fan no matter which sport, but always looked forward to football season.

He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church Panama City and the Smitherman house was always open to students over the years. Tim was known for stocking the freezer for them.

Tim will also be missed by his work family at Bayou Concrete where he served as their Dispatch Manager for the North Florida region.

Tim's life here was cut short by illness and he will be greatly missed by his family, but they have assurance this is not the end. They will all be together again in Heaven one day. And all of the richness he brought to their lives, lives on in who they are.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law,  Bob & Faye Goins, grandparents, Durwood & Bessie Smitherman  and James & Ola Bagley.

Tim leaves behind his wife Pam Smitherman; two sons, Nicholas Smitherman and wife, Hannah; Jeremy Smitherman;  his parents David & Margaret Smitherman; and numerous aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

You are welcome to join us in celebrating Tim's life on Saturday, August 20 ^th at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Panama City Fellowship Hall (former sanctuary).  The family will receive friends at the church from 1-2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to the International Mission Board, 3806 Monument Ave., Richmond, VA 23230 in memory of Tim Smitherman.
