Obituary

Timothy Wallace Smith, 69, passed from this life to his eternal home on May 21, 2026 surrounded by his wife and children and enveloped in the presence of God. Tim was born on January 22, 1957 in Panama City, Florida to Reverend Elmer “Gene” and Betty Jean Clayton Smith.

Tim attended Hiland Park Elementary School, Mowat Junior High School and was in the first graduating class from A. C. Mosley High School in 1975. Tim married the love of his life, Sharron Alldredge, in 1982. They were married for 44 years and enjoyed raising two children together. Their home was always a place where everyone was welcome and was known as the place for family and friends alike to gather.

Tim spent more than 30 years employed at Anchorage Children’s Home where he touched the lives of thousands of teens and children. During this time, he was named as Shelter Manager of the Year by the Southeastern Network of Youth Services. He had a very special gift with children that enabled him to convey his love for them that left no doubt that he cared for them and that he could be trusted. Instead of going straight into retirement, Tim spent the last five years employed by Bay District Schools. He continued his legacy of loving and helping children. For these efforts he was selected as the 2026 Support Employee of the Year for Cedar Grove Elementary School.

Tim was preceded in death by his Mother, Betty Jean Clayton Smith; grandparents Truman and Rhoda Clayton and Iverson and Sara Smith; father-in-law Ed Alldredge; sister-in-law Charlotte Ingram; and twin unborn grandbabies.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sharron; children Jared (Amber) and Alex; five precious grandchildren, who called him Pops - Everett, Eliza, Emilia, HalleeAnne, and Bowden; father Reverend Gene Smith; brother Danny Smith (Janet); sister Sharon Boorstin; mother-in-law Faye Alldredge; sister-in-law Pam Ellis (Kevin); brother-in-law Steve Alldredge (Angela); brother-in-law Donny Ingram and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who he greatly loved.

Additionally, Tim had so many precious friends, too many to name personally, but do want to mention the Thursday Night Prayer Group that meets in the Smith home, the staff at Cedar Grove Elementary; longtime friend and fishing buddy Dennis Mitchell (Ruth); Church family members from Lynn Haven Church of God, Panama City First Assembly of God and Elevation Life Church.

Services will be held on Monday, May 25 at 11:00 AM with visitation at 10:00 AM at Elevation Life Church, 1321 Beck Avenue, Panama City, Florida. Burial will follow the service at the Lynn Haven Cemetery.

The family wishes to sincerely thank the doctors, nurses and staff members of the Intensive Care Units at Ascension Bay Medical and Mayo Clinic Jacksonville for the wonderful care provided to our precious Husband, Daddy, Pops, Son, Brother, Uncle, Nephew and Cousin. Floral expressions of sympathy or donations to the Elevation Life Church Building Fund in the memory of Tim Smith are acceptable and appreciated.
