Obituary

Thomas Griffin Wilder, 83, of Panama City, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 13, 2023. He was born in Perry Florida on July 16, 1939. Tom moved with his family to Port St. Joe in the late 40s where he met his wife to be Wanda. Tom and Wanda moved to Panama City from Port St. Joe in 1972. They were members of St. Andrew Baptist Church. He was preceded in death his Parents, J.T. Wilder and Kattie Mae Wilder Patton and Wife Katherine Wanda Wilder. He is survived by four children, Thomas G. Wilder Jr., Willis Wilder, Debbie Collinsworth (Rodger) of Panama City, Jeffrey Wilder (Tracy); two grandchildren, Rachel Wilder and Wesley Wilder of Atlanta Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Tom and Wanda met and played together as children. They later dated in high school and married in 1960. Tom was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, role model and provider. He excelled at handy work, electrical, plumbing, masonry, and carpentry. He was a Surveyor in the United States Airforce followed by working for many years at IP/Stone Container as an Instrument Technician.  He was a great person, friend, and fishing buddy. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12 to 1 p.m., one hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Andrew Baptist Church Center of Hope in memory of Thomas Griffin Wilder.
