Thomas Wesley Pierce, 59, of Panama City, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014. He was born on February 27, 1955 in Orlando, Florida. He was a retired Captain for the Panama City Fire Department and had been a residential contractor since 1996. He was a member of The Rock Church for over 33 years.
Wes was a man of strength, honor, and the highest integrity. He was a faithful husband, father, and friend. He will be remembered as a great man who adored his wife and loved his God, Yahweh.
He was preceded in death by his father, Luther Pierce. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Stephenson Pierce; mother, Jeanette Pierce; one son, Mike Butterfield; two grandchildren, Tyler Butterfield, Sarah Butterfield; and two brothers, Devon Pierce (Debbie), Doug Pierce (Shirley).
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at The Rock Church. A private, family-only graveside committal will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Those desiring may make memorial donations to The Rock of Panama City.
Active pallbearers will be Doug Pierce, Devon Pierce, Pedro Fuster, Glenn Strickland, Tim Reed, Ron Barlup, Jerry Hood and Keith Mackey. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of the Panama City Fire Department.
