Thomas Lyman "Tom" Munroe
1936-2013
Thomas Lyman "Tom" Munroe, 77, of Panama City, FL left this world suddenly for his next big adventure on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Drina Elena (Hrzic) Munroe, daughter Danitzca Elena (Munroe) Burnett, son in-law William John Burnett, son CW5 (Ret) Thomas Antonio Munroe and daughter in-law Magaly Melina (Romani) Munroe who were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Dr. Kristina Janssen Donovan, Hunter Michael Munroe, Houston Alexander Munroe, Lindsay Burnett Cunningham, William Nicholas Burnett, Daniel Thomas Munroe, Jacob Ryan Munroe and his great grandchild Kylie Anne Donovan.
He was born in Baltimore, MD to the late Robert C. Munroe and Marion R. (Schroeder) Munroe. Tom was a Cold War era veteran of the U.S. Army and continued to serve his country as a Department of Defense contractor at the Naval Coastal Systems Center until his retirement as the Senior Field Service Engineer for AAI Engineering Support Incorporated.
Tom was an accomplished world traveler and outdoor enthusiast who visited over 50% of the globe with his beautiful bride by his side. He most enjoyed spending his time watching his family grow, being their moral compass, fishing, gardening, and living his life to the fullest. He will be missed.
His family celebrated his life on the afternoon of Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 in a private ceremony on the Gulf of Mexico as was his last wish.
