Thomas Martin of Panama City Beach, Florida went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the age of 68 after a terrible battle with pancreatic cancer. Tom was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandpa. He was born in Paterson, New Jersey, and was a resident of Panama City Beach for nearly 40 years. Tom was a man with a big heart and didn't know a stranger. In addition, he was a successful business man with operations in Petticoat Junction, Miracle Strip Amusement Park and most recently several locations of a retail candy and ice cream stores called The Fudge Factory. Tom loved to travel and during his short retirement spent the last 3 years traveling with the love of his life Glenda , criss crossing the country in their motor home.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lillian and James Martin. Thomas Is survived by his dedicated and loving wife of 45 years, Glenda , who took her vows of "through richer or poorer and in sickness and in health" very seriously. His devoted children Thomas Martin and Dawn Martin Robison; his affectionate grandchildren , Taylor, Andrew and Nicholas; loving brothers and sisters in law Robert and Beverly Martin, James and Betty Martin; Nieces and nephews Bobby, Brian, Peter, David, Laura, Danny and Lucas Martin; many great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Tom's life will be held at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel on Friday at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday.
