Obituary

Thomas E. (Tommy) Lane is home with Jesus, who he trusted and served faithfully through the life he lived. Born in Marianna FL, setting in Panama City, a graduate of Bay High School (1962), Gulf Coast Community College and William Carey University (1967). His joy was always his family and ministry. A gifted musician, singer, and pastor with a heart for loving people, he focused his career and life on serving churches for 54 years in: Hattiesburg, MS, Poplarville MS, Montgomery AL, and Opp, AL. Returning to his home town of Panama City to serve Parker Baptist Church, Cove Baptist Church, Northside Baptist Church, Springfield Baptist Church, Forest Park United Methodist, First United Methodist, Lynn Haven United Methodist, and retiring from his home church Immanuel Baptist Church in 2017. A beloved Husband of wife Margie Kent Lane of Panama City for almost 58 years. An adored father of Thomas (Tom) E. Lane Jr. and wife Patty H. Lane, Laura L. Mancil and husband Craig Mancil, and David M. Lane and wife Leslie L. Lane. Beloved son of Lonnie T. Lane (deceased) and Erma E. Lane. Treasured brother of Sandra A. Arcaro (Jim Arcaro.) A loving Grandfather of JT Steverson, Lauren and Andrew West, Luca Mancil, Brittney Pippin, and Katie Pippin. Great Grandfather of Sadie Creamer, Ellee Creamer, Brentley Creamer, and Tharen Abbott.  Loved dearly by a host of in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins (Lane's, Kent's, Porter's, Owen's, Doss.) He was an avid knife-maker and carver, wood worker, gardner, and wonderful cook. It is impossible to express how deeply he is loved by his family and friends, a kind, selfless, and humble man who always went above and beyond, he was a gift! Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 2 pm at First Baptist Church of Panama City. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 1-2 pm prior to the service. Per the families request masks are required and strict CDC guidelines will be followed. Floral donations will be accepted or if you prefer to make a memorial contribution to the Panama City Rescue Mission.
