Thomas Howard Gunn Sr., 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 1, 2022. He leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Betty Garrett Gunn; one son, Thomas Howard Gunn Jr. (Paula); one daughter, Dana Gunn-Molina (Gary); three grandchildren, Shelsie Gunn, Mason Gunn and Randall Wilkerson; two great grandsons, Aiden and Preston; one brother, Byron Gunn (Yong); one sister, Lela Rhyne (Glenn) and several nephews and one niece.  He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Alleen Gunn; brother, Jesse Gunn and sister, Iola.

He lived most of his life in Opelika, Alabama. He graduated from Auburn University.  He proudly served 4 years in the United States Air Force where he was awarded the Soldier's Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1 to p.m. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
