THOMAS McLAUGHLIN GARRED

Thomas McLaughlin Garred, 81, went home to be with the Lord on April 16, 2009, at his son's home in Panama City, FL.
Mr. Garred was born on December 4, 1927, in Brownsville PA. Mr. Garred enjoyed many successes throughout his life. He honorably served in the Army Air Corp during WWII as an air traffic control operator and later moved on to a successful career with Metropolitan Life Insurance. Mr. Garred was an avid golfer and enjoyed his family, friends, carpentry work, and clock repair operations.
Mr. Garred is survived by two sons, Thomas Garred, Jr. and James Garred, two daughters, Roberta Baird and Heidi Foshee, ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, brothers Jim Garred, Kip Garred, and John Garred, sisters Theresa McGovern, Bonnie Woodward, Christine Chamberlin, Rita Monti, Barbara Taylor, and Hubba Krebs. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, Anna and Bernard Garred, he was preceded in death by his wife, Isabelle, son Steven, brothers, Bernard Garred Jr. and George Garred, and sisters, Trudy Thompson, Mary Ann Psotka, and Catherine Brosky.
His viewing will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, on Sunday, April 19th from 5 – 6 pm CST. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 20th, at 12pm CST at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.
His family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations are sent to Emerald Coast Hospice, 2925 Martin Luther King Blvd., Panama City, FL 32401.
