Obituary

Thomas Melton Addison, 96, known lovingly to the world as "Shorty", was born on October 25, 1915 in Geneva, Alabama and slipped peacefully in the arms of our Savior on May 26, 2012 at Clifford Chester Sims Veteran's Home. He never met a stranger and loved to stay on-the-go. He was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Panama City and served in the United States Army Air Core and was a veteran of World War II. He was also a past member of the Panama City Men's Club and the American Legion. He was a retired aircraft mechanic/carpenter by trade. He was a beloved father and grandfather, and a blessing to all who knew him. He is survived by his brother, David Addison of Macon, Georgia; three sons, Randall Addison, and wife Marisel, Capt. Allen Addison, and wife Brenda, and Capt. Tommy Addison, and wife Donna, all of Panama City; grandchildren Angela Addison of Tallahassee, Tabitha Addison-Klippert, Timothy Addison, Jason Addison, Matthew Addison, Kevin Addison, and Joshua Addison, all of Panama City, Jennifer and a great-granddaughter, Samantha of South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Belle Harrell Addison, his parents Henry Franklin Addison and Ada Corilla Holland; siblings, R.Q. Addison, William Henry Addison, Willie Frances McClain, Jack Addison, John Branford Addison, Ara Mae Prince, Harmon Hillard Addison, Bunyon Addison, Joe Addison and Annie Laura Addison. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Jonathon Bowman officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the service. The family would like to thank Sims Veteran's Home and Covenant Hospice.
