THELMA PAPADOPOULOS WISE
Thelma Papadopoulos Wise passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 in Panama City, Florida.
She was born in Wheeling, West Virginia, graduating from Wheeling High School in 1950. After graduation, she assisted in the family restaurant before moving to Washington D.C. and accepting employment with Eastern Airlines as a ticketing administrator. During this period of her life, she took advantage of her opportunity for travel, seeking warm climes and socializing with friends.
Eventually, she met her future husband, Benjamin M. Wise, Jr., married and started her family. Residing alongside the Chesapeake Bay for a number of years, the family moved to their favorite vacation spot in 1977. She resided in Cooks Bayou, Florida from 1977 until her death.
Leaving Eastern Airlines after her second child, she worked tirelessly to ensure that her children were afforded every opportunity to become successful.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three brothers, Zaharia Papadopoulos, Harry Papadopoulos, and Michael Papadopoulos. She is survived by her three children, Theodora Wise, Daphne Kott, Benjamin Z. Wise; sister, Doris Papadopoulos; and her brother, George Harris.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, February 4, 2013 at St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church of Wheeling, West Virginia with Rev. Eugen Rosu officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Church.
