THELMA JEAN BRYANT
Thelma Jean Bryant, 83, of Panama City, Florida passed away Oct. 18, 2011. She was born Sept. 7, 1928 in Verona, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Jay Baird, Sr. and Helen Leona Baird and brother, Robert J.Baird Jr. of Dover, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Paul Bryant Sr. Survived by her daughter, Janice Sawyer and husband, Earl, son, James Paul Bryant Jr. and wife, Carmiah, two sisters, Carol Patrick and husband Pat, and Delores Jacques and husband Adam, of Panama City, 4 grandchildren, Melvin Jay Bryant, Michael Paul Bryant, Tammy Sawyer, and Angie Stokes, 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends with whom she enjoyed daily telephone conversations. She was a long time employee of K-Mart on 15th St., Gibsons, and Parker Winn-Dixie. She was an active member of Springfield Baptist church, where she made homebound visits and enjoyed singing in the choir. She was also an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Amaranth. She enjoyed traveling, lunches and gatherings with family and friends, and making blankets for her grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Hodges and Trey Meadows officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5 – 7 p.m. with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m.
