Obituary

Taylor Elizabeth Long Fishel, age 31, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024.  Born in Tallahassee, she was the daughter of Marie and Allen Long.  Taylor is survived by her loving husband, Howell, and their precious sons Lewis and James.  She is also survived by her parents, her brother and sister-in-law, Owen and Jessica Long, nephews Crawford and Rawley, her cherished Aunt Beth Carter, Aunt and Uncle Laura and Michael Haselton and nephew Kit, mother and father-in-law, Elyse and John Fishel, sister and brother-in-law, Brittany and Jay Trumbull, nieces Merritt and Emery and nephew Tripp Trumbull.  Raised in a large and loving community, she is also survived by numerous friends who were family.  Taylor graduated from Leon High School and Florida State University.  She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority where she made lifelong friends.

Taylor was a truly selfless person who generously devoted herself to helping others through difficult times, planning events for friends, and offering to do anything needed for friends and loved ones.  Taylor loved people, and she loved them well.  In return, everyone loved Taylor.  More than anything, she enjoyed spending days with family and friends.

Taylor met Howell at Dog Island shortly after graduation from college.  They fell in love and were married in Tallahassee prior to moving to Mississippi in June of 2018, where they bought their first home and started their married life together.  Taylor and Howell shared a love for adventure and the outdoors, including time on the water and in the mountains.  She particularly loved her time traveling, including many trips with Howell where she enjoyed hiking and exploring the Rocky Mountains and National Parks.  Their family grew after adding their dog Jackson in November of 2019, followed by their two beloved sons, Lewis in March of 2022, and James in October of 2024.  They moved back to Panama City in 2023.  As Lewis grew older he became her best friend, and she created the best life for him making sure that his every day was special.  She was looking forward to watching James grow older and becoming the best brother to Lewis and friend to her.  Taylor and her beloved husband Howell looked forward to sharing their love for travel and exploration with their sons.

Taylor was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Lois and Tom Haselton, paternal grandparents Nell and Bill Long, Uncle Wayne Carter, and Aunt Libby Long Bradley.
