TALMADGE LEE HOLCOMB, SR.
Talmadge "Tal" Lee Holcomb, 76, beloved husband, grandpa, father, brother and friend; passed from this life Friday, May 16, 2008; to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our father touched several through his life with his quick wit, great personality and humor "that only Tal could express." His enthusiasm with University of Alabama football and NASCAR was felt by all around and he will be greatly missed. He loved and dedicated his life to his devoted wife of 55 years, Betty Jean Holcomb, of Birmingham, AL; two sons, Terry Lee Holcombe, of Panama City Beach; and Talmadge Lee Holcomb, Jr., of Midway, GA and their families. Tal was survived by his wife, Betty Jean Holcomb; two sons, Terry Lee Holcomb; and Talmadge Lee Holcomb, Jr., three brothers, T.A. Holcomb, Waylon Holcomb and Bill Holcomb; all of Birmingham, AL, one sister, Earlene Redding of Cartersville, GA, five grandchildren, Bobby Baker, of Midway, GA, Lance Holcom of Panama City Beach, Alison Wilkerson of Opp, AL, Misty Holcomb and Nichole Cough, both of Panama City Beach, six great grandchildren; Jessica Baker and Mack Wilkerson of Opp, AL, Landon and Andrew Holcomb; Daisa Holcomb and Aleia Cough all of Panama City Beach. Tal was a member of First Baptist Church of Sunnyside where he served gracefully as a Deacon. Rev. Gary Holmes will be doing the service at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008. Tal formerly resided in Alabama, but has been a Bay County resident the past 18 years and worked at Tyndall AFB as a dedicated Chugach Support Services employee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice, 2925 Martin Luther King Blvd, Panama City, FL 32405 in memory of Tal Holcomb.
