T. Marie Smith, 82, of Southport, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019. She was born November 29, 1936 in Ways Station, Georgia to Elisha Ervin Coleman and Tonetta Ruby Miller Coleman. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Gene Smith; four children, Nathan Kelley, Michelle Liles, Michael Liles, Misty King; four step-children, Sharon Borstin, Timothy Smith (Sharron), Danny Smith (Janet), Bucky Piper (Cindy); sister, Tonetta Ponder; two brothers, Charles Coleman, Darrell Coleman (Frances); twenty-six grandchildren and thirty-four great grandchildren. She was an ordained minister within the Church of God, an accomplished artist, award winning poet, published author, and a counselor to so many. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Layne officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
