Obituary

Stanley Clarence Snead rode off into the sunset for the final time on Friday, March 17, 2023.  He was 71 years old.

Stan was born on December 26 th , 1951 to Everett Clarence Snead Jr. and Greta Duffer Snead at MacDill Air Force Hospital in Tampa, Florida.  He was a graduate of Plant High School and Tallahassee Community College, receiving an Associate in Arts in Law Enforcement.

He was a highly-decorated twenty year veteran of the Air Force, retiring as a Technical Sergeant in 1991.  Following this, he was a Sheriff's deputy for the Bay County Sheriff's Department.  He retired from the State of Florida after holding positions in the Emergency Operations Center for the Florida Division of Emergency Management and as a campus police officer for Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.

He was a fan of fast cars, firearms, and action movies, but he was also a civic-minded individual.  He supported groups such as the Boy Scouts of America and the Fraternal Order of Police.

He follows his mother and father, his sister Peggy Snead Grala and his brother, Robert Snead.  He leaves behind his widow, Barbara Bass Snead, his daughter, Samantha Christine Snead and her fiancé, Tae Kim and her children, Brandon and Savannah; his son, Brian Snead and his wife April and son Devin, and his stepson, Robert Lanton and his significant other, Amy Taylor.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:30-2 p.m. prior to the service.
