SONYA LEA CIRKS

Sonya Lea "Sunny" Cirks, 74, of Panama City, died Sunday, February 10, 2008 in her home. She was born on August 25, 1933. She married her husband, Irvin Cirks, on October 5, 1963. Before moving to Panama City, they lived in Maine. They retired to Florida in 1983 where they became members of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. She was currently a member of Grace Episcopal Church and of the Daughters of the King, The Healing Order of St. Luke, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church weekly spiritual group and the Four Year Education for Ministry Program. She was also a member of the Sierra Club, Music Association, and a board member of Beach Care Service and the Transformational Recovery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Nina Utterback, and sister, Judy Murray. She leaves behind her loving spouse of 44 years, Irvin Cirks, sister, Chelsea Sewell, brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Roger and Verna Miller, sister-in-law, Irma Walstrom, numerous nieces and nephews and hundreds of loving friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace Episcopal Church with Father Joseph Hagberg and Father John Wave officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 – 8 p.m. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the Taunton Children's Home, P.O. Box 870, Wewahitchka, FL 32465 in memory of Sonya Cirks.
