Sonja was born on December 20, 1941 to Vernon and Irene Casperson in Middletown, Ohio. She has one sister, Deloris Tome who is also from Middletown. She was educated in the Middletown City school system graduating from Monroe High School in 1959.  She was active in Rainbow Girls, Four H Club and marching band.  She loved gardening and was an excellent seamstress.  She attended college at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she earned a degree in Elementary Education.  She taught kindergarten and 5 ^th grade at Amanda Elementary and kindergarten at Middletown Christian School. She met and married Ted Alexander in 1971 and were married for 48 years.  Sonja was blessed by two children, Katrina Ross of Grand Rapids, MI and Tim Alexander (Rachael) of Bonifay, FL; six grandchildren who she dearly loved, Desiri Minster, Taylor Fox, Madison Fox, Liam Alexander, Cannon Alexander and Ella Grace Alexander; one great grandson, Gabe Minster.  Sonja put her faith and trust in Jesus Christ and his precious promise in John 3:16, her favorite verse.  She also loved John 14:1-3 that says Christ would prepare a place for her so that she would dwell with Him and serve Him for eternity.  Both those promises were fulfilled early in the morning on October 9 ^th , 2020, when she enter heaven and the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  She was loved and will be missed. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday October 24, 2020 at 11 a.m. in the C.C. Moore Chapel at First Baptist Church of Panama City with Rev. Rick Duff and Rev. David Hecht officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Panama City, 640 Grace Ave, Panama City, FL 32401 in memory of Sonja Alexander.
