Shirley May Buzzard, 82, died peacefully on September 3, 2021. She was born in Wellsville, NY on October 1, 1938 to the late Lewis E. Baker and Serena M. Fitch. She grew up in Belmont, NY. She graduated high from Belmont Central School in 1956. She married John Edgar Buzzard Jr in 1956. They were married 43 years. She worked as a nurse's aide in pediatric unit for many years in NY. She attended Jamestown Community College where she obtained her associates degree.

In 1985, Shirley and John moved to Panama City, Fl. She worked as Director of Childcare at St. Andrew Baptist Church. She graduated from Gulf Coast Community College with her bachelor's degree as an RN. She worked in Bay County as an RN for many years. Throughout her life Shirley was an active community volunteer in both NY and Fl.

She is preceded in death by her husband and parents. She is survived her sons, John Edgar Buzzard III, Jim (Laurie) Buzzard, Amy (Mike) Pompeo, and Jeanine (Tommy) Hagan; 16 grandchildren, John IV, Joshua, Jamie, Rian, Taitum, Christopher, Jason, Kerri, Kayla, Adam, Michelle, Andrew, Matthew, Krista, Melissa, and Tammy and 27 Great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will held at 4:00 PM Thursday, September 9, 2021 at First United Methodist Church, 903 E Fourth St., Panama City, Fl. with Dr Jeremy Pridgeon and Rev Carl Fountain officiating. Visitation will follow the memorial service.

Flowers will be accepted or donations in Mrs. Buzzards name may be made to the American Cancer Society, the American heart association or First United Methodist Church, Panama City.
