SHIRLEY SOUDERS BOLUS

Shirley Souders Bolus, 84, of Panama City Beach, went to be with the Lord, Monday, May 4, 2009 after a short battle with cancer. She was born September 11, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan. A native of Chattanooga, TN, Mrs. Bolus retired in 1998, making Panama City Beach her home. She and her late husband, George Bolus, were active members in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary in Chattanooga. They were also owners of Century 21 Bolus Realty and Esquire Cleaners in Chattanooga for many years. She was Methodist by faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was known to all of the children as "Grandmom." She was preceded in death by her husband, George Bolus, parents, Alfred and Mary Souders and six brothers. She is survived by her two daughters, Sandy Bolus Turner and husband Mike, of Panama City Beach, Kara Bolus Atchley and husband Darrell, of Chattanooga, TN; granddaughters, Paige Clark of Panama City Beach (who was like a daughter), Lindy Lizausaba and husband Roger, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Jamey Turner, of Tampa, FL, Kirsten Hyde and Hannah Atchley, of Chattanooga, TN; great grandchildren, Payton Scott, KyLeigh Clark, both of Panama City Beach, Shea Ghibaudi and Noah Lizausaba, of Fort Lauderdale, FL and her companion and beloved dog, Troubles. The family will receive friends at Wilson Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 5 from 5 – 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday in the Turner Funeral Home, Hwy 58 Chapel, 3913 Webb Road, (423) 622-3171 in Chattanooga. Entombment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday from Noon – 3 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home prior to the service.
