Sheila Elaine Barbarisi, née Boyette, died on March 28th, 2022, at her home in Panama City Beach. She was 71 years old.
She was a gifted artist who worked in a variety of media, including sculpture, ceramics, airbrush and acrylic paint. She insisted upon kindness, encouraged curiosity, treasured the earth, and celebrated learning. She instilled these values in her children, to whom she devoted all her energy, without compromise or expectation of recompense. She enjoyed music and dancing, read voraciously, and loved films--their sets, their scores, their costumes and stories--and could describe an actor's oeuvre down to the smallest role. She was quietly yet staunchly moral, and generous with her limited means; Doctors Without Borders, the Nature Conservancy and the Arbor Day Society were her favorites. She is preceded in death by her brother, Don Boyette; her sister, Gloria Kress; and her beloved husband, Marco Barbarisi. She is survived by her brother, Gary (Becky) Boyette; her two children, Jamie (Mandy) Bartels and Marc Bartels; nieces Blythe Andrews and Shanon Bawcom; nephew Rob Boyette; and her dear, lifelong friend, Pam Logston Bond. Her wit and good-natured humor are already, and ever shall be, sorely missed.
Her family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Covenant Hospice for their care and attention to Sheila's comfort in her final days.
