Obituary

SARAH INGRAM HANEY

Sarah Ingram Haney of Panama City died Saturday, November 11, 2006 in her home. She came to Panama City from Minor Hill, Tennessee, with her husband, Tom P. Haney, in 1937. She was a graduate of Martin College in Pulaski, Tennessee, and a Phi Theta Kappa member. She was past president and life member of the Woman's Club of Panama City. She was selected as the 1978-79 State of Florida Clubwoman of the Year by the Florida Federated Woman's Clubs. She was also a charter member of the Lion's Club Auxiliary, a member of the Panama City Garden Club, a former Pink Lady at Bay Medical Center and a Red Cross Volunteer at Bay County High School. She served as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and was active in several local charities. Sarah was a long time member of First Baptist Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher, choir member and WMU worker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom P. Haney, her parents, Professor Edd & Maude Ingram, her brothers, Stanley and wife Rachel, and Joe and his wife, Marjorie. She is survived by two sons, Ted I. Haney (and wife, Judy) of Lynn Haven and Tom C. Haney (and wife, Dianne) of Tallahassee. She has five grandchildren: Fara (and husband Don Avery) of Columbus, GA., Dina (and husband, Jeff Stevenson) of Nashville, Tennessee, Todd (and wife, Scotti) Haney of Lynn Haven, Mark (and wife, Sarah Nan) Haney of Tallahassee, and Angela (and husband, Brian Orkin) of Tallahassee. There are twelve great-grandchildren, Amelia and Meredith Avery of Columbus, Georgia, Chelsea and Logan Keyser and Brooke and Samantha Stevenson of Nashville, Tennessee, Sallie, Gavin and Corbin Haney of Lynn Haven, and Taylor, Kendall and Alyssa Haney of Tallahassee. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. CST in the First Baptist Church of Panama City with Rev. Clyde Ellison officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. CST Monday. Those desiring may make a contribution to the Tom P.
