Sarah Eloise Hancock, 62, of Wewahitchka, FL, died Friday, September 25, 2009 in her sister's home. She was born October 15, 1946 in Dothan, Alabama. She was raised in Wewahitchka and was a 1966 graduate of Wewahitchka High School. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Bay Medical Center. She served on the Board of Directors for the Panhandle Gator Club. She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Garrett and husband, John; 2 brothers, A. Ray Hancock and wife, Jan; Russell E. Hancock and wife, Frances; 2 nephews, John Garrett II and wife, Johnnie; Russell E. Hancock Jr. and wife, Trish; 5 nieces, Cynthia Prickett, Linda Colley, Sonja Hancock, Rhonda Richey, Felicia Bryan; fiancé, Eddie Zido; friends and caregiver, Julie Fitzpatrick, Mona Johnson and her dog companion, Jetta. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Wewahitchka. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Monday and at the church from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to the Panhandle Gator Club Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 1503, Panama City, FL 32402 or to Emerald Coast Hospice, 2925 Martin Luther King Blvd, Panama City, FL 32405 in memory of Sarah Hancock.
