SARAH AGNES DUDLEY MELVIN
Sarah Agnes Dudley Melvin was born December 12th, 1910 to a family of eight children. She was the daughter of the late Owen and Millie Dudley of Adel, Ga. The family moved to Bay Co. in l913. She married her late, beloved husband, Ernest E. Melvin on Dec. 21, 1927. Mrs. Melvin is survived by one son: Gene Melvin and, daughter-in-law, Daune of Phenix City, AL. and also mother of the late Ernest Ned Melvin of Newport, Arkansas: and the late Henry Dudley Melvin of Panama City, FL. She is also survived by 8 Grandchildren, 12 Great grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Melvin gave herself to God at a young age. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City since 1945, class member of Ruth's Joyful Servant Sunday School class, and member of the 39ers Choir. She was a Past Matron of Panama Chapter of Eastern Star. She was Grand Representative of Georgia, her native state, and Florida, for 3 years, and was the President of Past Matron and Past Patron Club. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 19 at 3 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Ellison officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service. Active pallbearers will be Mickey Melvin, Ian Melvin, Leon Campbell, JC Campbell, David Dudley and Steve Gibson. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Gibson, Kenneth Gibson, Steven Record, members of the Dept. G. Sunday School class of the First Baptist Church, all members of the Eastern Star Chapters, and members of the Past Matrons, and Past Matrons Club, and Lady Friends of Thursday Club Group.
